yesss!
Updated May 14, 2026 · By Jules de Bruin · Austria's A1-owned budget MVNO sold through SPAR and OBI.
What is yesss!?
Austria's longest-running discount MVNO, run inside the A1 group.
yesss! is an Austrian discount MVNO launched in 2005 and wholly owned by A1 Telekom Austria. It sells low-priced, no-contract prepaid and SIMple tariffs that run on the A1 4G and 5G network, distributed through the SPAR supermarket chain, OBI hardware stores and its own yesss.at storefront.
The brand was created by mobilkom austria (now A1 Telekom Austria) in 2005 to defend the bottom of the market against discount entrants such as Hofer's HoT and the early Drei MVNOs. Where A1's main brand sells premium plans through carrier-grade retail, yesss! targets price-sensitive shoppers who want a SIM in the same trolley as their groceries.
The product range centres on the SIMple family of tariffs (SIMple XS, S, M and L), each a flat monthly bundle of voice minutes, SMS and data with no fixed-term contract. Customers top up via SPAR, OBI tills, yesss.at, supermarket-bought vouchers or direct debit. Because yesss! is owned inside the A1 group rather than wholesaling capacity externally, its plans use A1's full 4G LTE and 5G coverage footprint, which RTR's annual network reports consistently rank as the strongest rural and Alpine network in Austria.
yesss! is one of two A1-owned MVNOs alongside bob. The brands are positioned differently: yesss! is the supermarket-shelf, simplest-tariffs-in-Austria play, while bob is the digital-first, slightly more feature-rich brand. Both run on identical A1 radio infrastructure, but they target different distribution channels and price points.

How does yesss! differ from bob (both A1 MVNOs)?
Same network, different shelves.
yesss! and bob are both A1 Telekom Austria sub-brands running on the identical A1 4G/5G network, so coverage is the same. The split is commercial: yesss! is the supermarket-channel discount brand sold at SPAR and OBI, while bob is the digital-native, online-led brand with slightly broader feature options and a different tariff naming scheme.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about yesss!'s network, registration, roaming, 5G access and where the SIMs are physically sold.
Which network does yesss! actually use? expand_more
yesss! runs entirely on the A1 Telekom Austria 4G LTE and 5G network. Because yesss! is owned inside the A1 group rather than wholesaled from a third party, customers get the same radio footprint A1 sells under its main brand — including A1's rural and Alpine coverage advantage that RTR's annual measurements consistently rank first in Austria.
Do you need to register a yesss! SIM with ID? expand_more
Yes. Since the 2019 RTR rule, all Austrian prepaid SIMs — including yesss! SIMs sold at SPAR or OBI — must be registered with a passport or EU national ID before activation. You complete this at the till, online during activation or via the yesss! app. Anonymous prepaid is no longer legal in Austria.
How does yesss! handle EU roaming? expand_more
yesss! applies the EU's Roam Like at Home (RLAH) rules. On the flagship SIMple M tariff, 15.2 GB of the 100 GB monthly allowance is usable in EU-27 plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. Voice and SMS to other EU countries are included on the same fair-use terms. Switzerland and the UK are not in the EU roaming zone and are billed separately.
Does yesss! include 5G? expand_more
Yes. yesss! customers on SIMple tariffs get access to A1's 5G network at no extra charge, subject to having a 5G-capable handset and being inside A1's 5G coverage area. There is no separate 5G surcharge as some Austrian discounters historically charged.
Can you really buy yesss! at SPAR? expand_more
Yes. yesss! starter packs and top-up vouchers are stocked at SPAR, INTERSPAR and EUROSPAR supermarkets across Austria, alongside OBI hardware stores. You can also buy and activate online at yesss.at or in stand-alone yesss! shops. The supermarket channel is the brand's distinguishing distribution play versus bob.
