What is it?

Vodafone Germany (Vodafone GmbH) is the German operating company of the UK-headquartered Vodafone Group. Following its 2019 acquisition of Liberty Global's German cable assets (Unitymedia), Vodafone Germany operates the country's largest cable broadband network alongside its mobile business.

The consumer prepaid brand is CallYa, which runs from a no-fee Classic tariff through 2 GB / 25 GB / 50 GB / 100 GB tiers up to an unlimited CallYa Black at EUR 79.99 / 4 weeks. CallYa's commercial differentiator is its Germany-to-EU calling allowance - 200 included minutes on the S tier, 500 on M and L, unlimited on Black - which Telekom prepaid does not include.

Vodafone's wholesale relationships include the flanker brands otelo and SIMon mobile (both owned by Vodafone Germany), plus the supermarket brand LIDL Connect. Lebara Germany partly uses the Vodafone network. The independent connect 2025 ranking placed Vodafone at sehr gut, second to Telekom but ahead of O2 and 1&1.
