What is it?

ALDI TALK launched in 2005 as a partnership between discount-supermarket chain ALDI and MEDION AG (now part of Lenovo). It is Germany's largest supermarket prepaid brand by subscriber count.

The brand runs on the O2/Telefónica network, with 5G access on most current tariffs and download speeds up to 100 Mbit/s. The main ladder uses 4-week billing cycles: Kombi-Paket S (25 GB EUR 8.99), Kombi-Paket M (50 GB EUR 13.99), and Kombi-Paket L (100 GB).

ALDI TALK's differentiator is its annual packs: the Jahres-Paket XS at EUR 69.99 for 60 GB/year is the cheapest absolute annual prepaid on any German national network, and the Jahres-Paket S at EUR 99.99 for 250 GB/year matches LIDL Connect on absolute price while running on O2 instead of Vodafone.

Distribution is unique: activation cards are sold at every ALDI cashier. Customers can top up at the same till as their groceries - a key convenience that explains the brand's scale.
